Stomach Aches & Pain

Everyone has stomach aches and pain or discomfort occasionally. If your stomach aches and pain is persistent or causes you concern, walk into Express Urgent Care for prompt medical care.

What causes stomach aches/abdominal pain?

Whether your abdomen feels sore, colicky, or cramped, you’re probably wondering, “why does my stomach hurt?”

Many conditions cause abdominal pain and nausea, and it can be difficult to determine exactly what is causing your abdominal pain. Most stomach aches are caused by constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, food allergies, lactose intolerance, food poisoning, or a stomach virus. Stomach aches will often go away on their own. However, in some instances, it’s critical to see a medical professional; your stomach ache may be a sign of a more serious condition, such as appendicitis, ulcers, or injury.

Symptoms:

  • Sharp or dull pain in your abdomen
  • Cramping
  • Nausea
  • When to see a doctor
